Susan Dowden MA, LPC, J.D.
Susan completed her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling at Fordham University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. Along with her work at Fordham and her experience at Integrated Care Concepts, Susan has been a full-time mother of three children, now (almost) grown, and actively involved in several local charitable and non-profit organizations that serve children and families.
Prior to that, Susan practiced as an environmental attorney here in Monmouth County. She earned her Juris Doctor at Rutgers University School of Law in Newark and her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University.
Susan is particularly interested in the role of spirituality in mental health and well-being. While at Fordham, Susan completed several research projects on the impact of spirituality and religion in areas such as adolescent development, addiction, marriage and family counseling, grief recovery and depression, and suicide.
She believes in a person-centered approach to counseling and believes that each individual has the inner strength and resources to heal and to thrive.

Susan is also an advocate of holistic health care and is currently pursuing certification in Holistic Nutrition. Susan is grateful to be a part of the team at Integrated Care Concepts and Consultation because of the unique interdisciplinary approach to health and well-being.
One of Susan’s favorite authors is Thomas Merton, who wrote:
