Rosemaur Intelisano MA, LAC, NCC, ESMHL

Clinician

Rosemaur, also known as Roe, graduated Cum Laude from Kean University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She then went on to obtain a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgian Court University. During graduate school, she completed her practicum experience at an adult partial care program, and completed her internship experience here at Integrated.

Prior to entering the counseling profession, Roe spent many years working with horses. She began riding at age 5 and as the years passed, she started volunteering and working at a nonprofit therapeutic riding facility, and has taught riding lessons for over 10 years.

Roe holds multiple certifications for equine assisted therapies in different accrediting bodies. She is certified as an Equine Specialist (ES) as well as a Mental Health Professional (MH) through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), and she is also a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) as well as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.).

Roe’s approach to therapy is eclectic, as she understands the importance of flexibility for each individual’s needs. Foundationally, she operates from a humanistic lens, and strives to hold an open and supportive setting through a person-centered framework while integrating various other theories and evidence-based practices including psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, mindfulness and acceptance based practices, cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right-hand corner.’ I don’t try to control the sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” – Carl Rogers
