Rebecca began her career working with at risk youth and families at what was then the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) after earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Georgian Court College in 1995. Her sensitive heart was touched by all that she saw as an urban case worker helping families impacted by poverty and trauma. Rebecca moved on to earn a master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from the Naropa University in 2001. Transpersonal Psychology is a branch of psychology focused on the spiritual and transcendental aspects of human experience. Rebecca was trained in Vipassana Mindfulness/Awareness Meditation and spent three years studying one on one with a meditation instructor. She learned to work with families using experiential approaches focused on transforming relationships through in the moment experience. Rebecca has post graduate training in Hakomi Therapy, a mindfulness based, somatically orientated psychotherapy. Rebecca’s approach to her work is grounded in present moment awareness and an acknowledgement of body/mind holism.

Rebecca has worked with kids and families involved in the Child System of Care in both Ocean and Monmouth Counties beginning and ending doing in community work as a therapist, but also spending time developing and managing a Children’s Partial Hospital Program, working as an outpatient therapist and Supervising Care Managers at a CMO.
