Morris Lucky MSW, M.Ed., M.Div., LSW, SAC
Morris is a Licensed Social Worker who has been counseling for more than 34 years. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at the Union College in Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield. He obtained a Bachelor’s in Political Science from North Carolina Central University (his proud Alma Mater!), his Substance Awareness Coordinator Certificate from Kean University (then, Kean College), his Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University, his Master’s in Education from The American College of Education, and a Masters of Divinity from Drew University. Although he has a long history of working with diverse socio-economic backgrounds of K-12 students, he is a multi-generational counselor.
Morris believes that relationships are quintessential to most human experiences; therefore, the development and nurturing of a healthy therapeutic alliance is prioritized with all clients. He compassionately and empathetically joins with clients to help them effectively navigate through challenging times. His therapeutic approach is eclectic, as he meets individuals where they are, fully embracing their own spectrums of social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual location. His most utilized modalities of therapy are rooted in the Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Psychoanalysis, Family Systems, Solution-focused, and the Strength-based approach. Morris uses a variety of Mindfulness meditation to enhance the therapeutic process. He is a holist counselor who believes our minds, bodies, and spirits must all be in tune and must be simultaneously attended to, if we are to experience total wellness.
