Marlena graduated undergraduate school at the State University of New York at Oneonta, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies. After gaining several years of valuable life experience, she went on to attend graduate school at Kean University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Marlena has also completed specialized training in Jungian Sand Tray Therapy, to incorporate in therapy with clients of all ages.

Marlena has experience working as an outpatient therapist at a community mental health agency, and as a therapist at a domestic violence program, prior to joining Integrated Care Concepts & Consultation. She has a wide array of clinical experience working with the LGBTQ+ population, people of any gender identity, depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief, traumatic experiences, life transitions/adjustments, healthy boundaries, social/relationship skills, and more. Marlena is currently providing telehealth therapy, for adults individually.

Get to Know Marlena

When interacting with clients Marlena is curious, calm, and authentic. She has an integrative, collaborative, and client centered approach to therapy. She considers it an honor to be entrusted by clients to hold space for them to safely explore their deeper feelings and self, and for them to share their life experiences and challenges without fear of judgement. She also believes laughter is often overlooked or underestimated in life, and thoroughly enjoys a heartfelt laugh with clients when fitting!

Marlena is an animal lover, and an avid animal rescue volunteer foster mom for cats and kittens. Her personal pets are a Siberian Husky named “Teeko”, who sometimes makes a guest appearance during telehealth sessions, as well as two cats named “Brody” and “Foxtrot”. She loves time spent outdoors, and activities like hiking, kayaking, running, gardening, swimming, walking the boardwalk, spending time at the beach, and casually playing sports such as tennis and soccer with family. Marlena also has an adventurous side and enjoys whitewater rafting, mountain coasters, horseback riding, obstacle courses, and 5k mud runs. She is also a Reiki master and has an interest in energy and spirituality.
