Lisa Sayar PMHNP-BC
Lisa began her journey as a nurse in NY, providing care in the underserved populations of Brooklyn, at Maimonides Medical Center and at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus in NYC. It is within this clinical experience in emergency trauma and psychiatric crisis intervention that Lisa discovered her passion for treating the whole patient. The importance and definitive need of helping a person heal, not only physically but emotionally, presented itself and she went on to pursue her graduate degree at Hunter College School of Nursing to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
The diversity of cultures, beliefs and communities in NYC has provided Lisa with an enhanced appreciation and well-developed sensitivity for the individuality of every person. Lisa is also bilingual, being fluent in Spanish.
Simultaneously, Lisa began her journey as a mother during this time, and after having her third child she decided to relocate her family to New Jersey. Lisa completed her Master’s in Advanced Practice Nursing at Monmouth University, with exemplary clinical supervision under Dr. Pogran, which eventually led her to joining the ICCC family.
Lisa believes in providing client-centered care and utilizing holistic approaches as complementary to evidence-based practice to assist the client in finding their best quality of life.
