Self-Harming Behavioral Therapy
This type of support is best suited for patients that have caused injury to themselves, and this program is not restricted based on age.
This therapy is designed to work with behaviors that a patient uses to injure themselves. These may include cutting, burning, puncturing, pulling the skin, pulling hair, biting, and hitting.
These behaviors are most prevalent in young teens and are believed to occur as a method of coping with stress, painful feelings, as a method of self-punishment, and as a technique for producing euphoria in certain circumstances.
