Brainspotting
Brainspotting is often a good fit for trauma survivors.
Brainspotting (BSP) is a talk therapy approach that helps to reveal a client’s unprocessed trauma through fixed eye positions. These eye positions are connected to their own “brain spot,” an area of the mind that retains certain thoughts and emotions.
The process involves having clients fixate on troubling brain spots to uncover hidden mental challenges. This approach allows clients to guide themselves through their own subconscious. In doing so, they decide which issue to start with and then explore it with only light guidance by their therapist. This process integrates mind and body uniquely and helpfully.
