Intentional Parenting & Intentional Family

March 20, 2025 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Parenting, who knew? Who knew how much harder it was going to be in this generation compared to “back in our day”? In raising the kids and holding the family together the challenges and intersectionality of so many complex vulnerabilities have created dynamic obstacles to creating a facilitating relational family experience. Families requiring multiple incomes to financially survive, social media, technology, hyper scheduled kids, social and political divisions, COVID, the number of distractions, disruptions and demands go on, making the time with our kids, being parents and being a family more limited than ever. We have less time to be a family, to be a parent, this requires us to not be accidental or coincidental but INTENTIONAL in our approach to the most important thing for our world today.
Intentional Parenting is a mindfulness-based approach to family leadership that incorporates a review of the basic challenge and confusion facing families today, 20th Century parents, parenting 21st Century children in this socio political technological economic context, post pandemic. What is required for the family to be an effective place of belongingness and there by development, is the immediacy of authentic parental presence with clear understanding of the purpose of parenting and family; preparing the child to thrive in the world on their own terms independently.
Learning Objectives:
- Review of 20th Century, the place of the parent’s beginning
- Review of 21st Century family and parenting context
