Melanie graduated from Rutgers University with a dual-degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice, and later earned her Master’s in Social Work from Fairleigh Dickinson University. During her graduate studies, she was inducted into Phi Alpha, the International Honor Society in Social Work. She currently holds a License in Social Work (LSW).

Melanie has experience providing behavioral and mental health support in settings such as behavioral health services, child and family advocacy, and care management. She has worked with children, families, and individuals from diverse and marginalized communities, as well as with first-generation LatinX college students. These professional and academic experiences, along with her own personal journey, have shaped her compassionate, client-centered approach and strengthened her commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, and fostering resilience. She strives to meet clients where they are and tailor support to their unique needs. Melanie is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Get to Know Melanie

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and three cats. She values self-care and enjoys hiking, Pilates, and reading new books that inspire imagination and professional growth. She also loves traveling and exploring new places, and has recently taken up baking as a new hobby. Melanie also likes to relax with cozy pastimes such as puzzles, crocheting, watching TV and movies, playing video games, and coloring. Melanie’s favorite quote is from the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower: “You can’t choose where you come from, but you can choose where you go from there,” serving as a reminder to approach each day with intention, embrace growth, and focus on the possibilities ahead.
