Katie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Social work at Rutgers University. Upon completion of her social work degree, Katie obtained her certificate as a School Social Worker. Throughout her time in school, Katie has been acknowledged for her high honors and academic success. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Katie has clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, grief/loss, eating disorders, self-esteem, and other life changes. She enjoys working with children and teens to overcome personal obstacles, develop self-identity, and learn healthy coping skills that bring joy and excitement.

Katie has many years of experience in the addiction counseling field working with both adolescents and adults to not only overcome their addiction but learn to identify and cope with underlying problems. She has worked in a variety of different treatment modalities, from detoxification to outpatient programs to opioid-maintenance programs to short-term and long-term residential treatment programs. Katie currently works at a residential substance abuse treatment facility where she provides therapeutic services to those struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. She strives to create a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can feel supported in their efforts to change and grow as they become reconnected to themselves, their strengths, and their aspirations.

Katie has a strong focus on spirituality and mindfulness. She believes that everyone has a voice and a purpose in this life to express themselves freely and mold themselves to be who they are. Outside of therapy, Katie has a passion and knowledge of exercise and nutrition. She has experience as a personal trainer and teaching group exercise classes, which aim to motivate those to reach their potential and develop both internal and external strength.
