Judy Thompson MS, C-IAYT, E-RYT500
Judy Thompson is a Certified Yoga Therapist, Integrative Mental Health Consultant, educator, and founder of Sakala School of Integrative Teaching. She holds a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy and the Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) credential through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Many people seek yoga therapy when traditional approaches alone have not fully addressed what they are experiencing. They may feel disconnected from themselves, overwhelmed by stress, navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, or the lasting effects of difficult experiences. Others are simply looking for a different way to understand the relationship between mind, body, emotions, and daily life.
Judy’s approach integrates yoga therapy, mental health perspectives, mindfulness, Ayurveda, and other reflective practices to support greater awareness, self-understanding, and connection. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, sessions explore the whole person and the many factors that influence well-being, including relationships, habits, beliefs, environment, meaning, and lived experience.
Her work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for each individual’s unique path. Together, clients explore practical tools and perspectives that can support resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful change while honoring personal values, strengths, and goals.
In addition to her clinical and educational work, Judy writes, teaches, and develops resources related to trauma-informed practice, integrative mental health, and human flourishing through Sakala School of Integrative Teaching.
Judy specializes in:
- Yoga therapy, trauma-informed education, contemplative practice, embodied learning, professional development, writing, meditation, and reflective inquiry.
