Catherine "Claire" Thompson LSW

Outpatient Clinician

Claire received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across educational, behavioral health, and community mental health settings.

Claire began her career teaching and tutoring children ages 3 through 5th grade before transitioning to work as a behavioral technician supporting young children with autism while also facilitating parent groups. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as a group facilitator and case manager for adults with co-occurring disorders. During graduate school, Claire expanded her training in trauma-informed care and interned at Rutgers Veterans House, where she provided individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate student veterans experiencing mental health challenges.
After earning her master’s degree and becoming licensed in social work, Claire continued working with adolescents and adults experiencing co-occurring disorders, providing individual and group therapy.

Claire is known for her warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth approach. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and sharing their experiences. Claire believes therapy is most effective when it is collaborative and tailored to each individual. She works alongside clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change. Claire is passionate about helping people better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
