Alissa Rivera LAC, NCC

Clinician

Alissa completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Georgian Court University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and went on to obtain a Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Alissa is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) that is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). During graduate school, she completed her practicum experience at a partial care program for children and adolescents, and she completed her internship experience at an adult partial care program. Prior to joining the Integrated Care Concepts and Consultation team, Alissa worked as an adult outpatient clinician. She has experience facilitating groups for each of these populations, as well as providing individual therapy for adults.

Alissa uses an eclectic approach to therapy, as she understands that counseling is not one-size-fits-all. As a foundation, she recognizes the importance of meeting clients where they are in their journey and aims to provide a supportive setting that serves as a safe space for her and the client to work collaboratively towards their goals, wellness, and ultimate healing. Alissa prides herself on being empathetic, nonjudgmental, and multiculturally competent. She understands that each client is unique and that our respective cultures and world-views play an important role in our lives and treatment. Alissa provides individual therapy using an integration of Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches and modalities.
