Licensed Associate Counselor

Kimberly Ketchow is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey and practices under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor, in accordance with New Jersey Board regulations. She holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Science and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Kimberly also brings interdisciplinary experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and has worked within integrated healthcare settings.

Kimberly provides counseling services to adults and couples using a trauma-informed, collaborative approach grounded in evidence-based practices. Her clinical work incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)–and expressive arts techniques, as clinically appropriate and within scope of practice. She has experience supporting individuals impacted by domestic violence and relational trauma, with a focus on empowerment, safety, and fostering autonomy.

She also supports individuals living with chronic medical conditions, disabilities, and neurodivergent identities, practicing from a disability-affirming and neurodiversity-affirming framework. Kimberly has experience in integrated care settings and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address the intersection of mental health, physical health, and psychosocial stressors.

Kimberly is committed to ethical practice, ongoing clinical supervision, and continued professional development. She works with clients ages 18 and older and strives to create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, respectful, and responsive to each client’s lived experience.

Kimberly’s counseling approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when clients feel understood, supported, and empowered within a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship. She values a thoughtful, transparent process tailored to each client’s pace, with particular sensitivity to trauma, relational harm, medical complexity, and systemic barriers to care.

She integrates reflective, narrative, and expressive practices when appropriate to support emotional regulation, insight, and self-understanding—especially when experiences are difficult to access through words alone.

Kimberly brings a compassionate, attuned presence to her work, informed by her appreciation for connection, creativity, meaningful routines, and the grounding qualities of animals. She is especially mindful of clients who have felt marginalized or misunderstood and works collaboratively to identify strengths, clarify goals, and build sustainable coping strategies.
