Location: Eatontown (Main Office)

Samantha attended The University of Rochester as a scholar-athlete, playing Volleyball while studying a double major in psychology and brain and cognitive science.  She graduated in 2010, Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the academic society, Phi Beta Kappa.  She continued her education at Rutgers School of Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She has done research in decision making, social dynamics, and mental health in older adults, while clinically working at a partial hospitalization program for children and adolescents from 2012 to 2019.

She works primarily with children and adolescents who are experiencing challenging anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, identity-exploration, difficulty with adjustment to changing life circumstances, and strained family dynamics.  She incorporates family work and coaching as therapy progresses through stages of healing and this dynamic also branches to adults who are experiencing similar challenges. She works with clients to develop emotion regulation skills through various mediums, including talk, art, journaling, play, and outdoor counseling.  She loves to get active to engage clients dynamically.

She believes there is value in taking time for yourself each day, even if it is just a little bit of time to “fill your cup” in whatever way works for you. She is an avid proponent of fitness, as it is a large part of holistic wellness.  Whether that means going for a run and enjoying beautiful weather, or engaging in strength training in the gym, she finds a way to move each day. She enjoys engaging creativity through artwork. She attempts to live daily by the notion that the energy you consume and expend physically and emotionally is tied closely to your sense of competency and overall well-being. Our wellness is not simply dependent on what happens to us, but rather, what we choose to energize.
