Samantha began her journey by earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology at the University of Scranton. She was always passionate about how societal constructs and pressures impact individuals and how we can work together to empower one another to spread positivity. She had the opportunity to intern for the Pennsylvania State Probation and Parole specialized caseload unit and was introduced to counseling. She then went to earn her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. During this time, she had the opportunity to provide individual and group counseling to young adults on the Autism Spectrum and youth and adults from inner city communities. Throughout the course of her graduate career, she worked as a case manager for an adult partial care program facilitating group therapy for individuals with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia etc. Samantha is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Samantha is working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In addition to her work at ICCC, Samantha is working as an intensive in home clinician working with youths and families to assist in stabilizing different crises.
When she is not working, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, friends and 2 dogs Olive and Bear. Her hobbies include playing soccer, watching her favorite professional soccer team games (Orlando Pride and USWNT!), running, baking and painting. She can often be found outside being active with a soccer ball at her feet, walking Olive and Bear or reading a book at a park.
When interacting with clients Samantha honors each individual’s uniqueness and diversity. She operates from a person-center approach while incorporating different counseling modalities that best fits her clients needs. She believes that growth can flourish in a supportive, empathetic, nonjudgmental space, which is crucial for client’s path to wellness. Samantha feels humbled and honored to work with clients daily and to be a part of their journey.
