Janelle has worked and clinically interned in the PALS program for sexual/domestic abused youth & adolescents and partial care/intensive outpatient programs, volunteered as an art therapist/mentor at a camp for young females aged 3-18 years old who were sexually abused, and worked at Children’s Mobile Response as a crisis intervention specialist. Janelle primarily works with children and adolescents who have challenges with depression, abuse, trauma, developmental disabilities, illness-based trauma, and more. She has worked with families also and will incorporate art therapy while processing family dynamics. Janelle’s therapeutic process with clients is to use creative interventions through various mediums such as painting, clay, drawing, play, 3-Dimensional art, journaling, and processing through talk. Her goal is to create a safe space for individuals to be able to express themselves through the use of art. Janelle believes art is limitless and imaginative for all ages.

Janelle finds peace with art, crocheting, painting, film/digital photography, and mixed media. Janelle loves to read and research multiple art therapy interventions to expand the therapeutic process for others. In her spare time, she is an assistant/teacher for a painting studio that provides multi-medium classes and she is also a freelance photographer.

Quoted by Janelle’s favorite artist Vincent Van Gogh ” Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together.”
