Carrine is currently a Therapist, Certified School Social Worker, MSW, LCSW. She works as a School Social Worker at an out of district setting providing counseling to students, parents and teachers. She joins the Integrated team as a part time therapist because of her continuous drive to work with others. Her educational background includes Seton Hall University for undergrad in Bachelors of Social Work, and then she went on to pursue her MSW at Monmouth University and ultimately obtaining her License in Social Work. Specialty areas of study include working with children and families, young adolescents, and anxiety. She started her career at St. Peter’s University Hospital, during her 6 years there she was both a mental health counselor and then a therapist. That experience gave her the opportunity to work with children ranging from ages 5 to 17 years old, exhibiting many different mental health and behavioral issues. She provided crisis interventions, case management, individual, group and family therapy. She also did my internship in the Newark, NJ school system, and facilitated group therapy and discussions about relevant life topics with students.

She is Bi-lingual, speaking English and Portuguese, born and raised in Monmouth County, NJ. During her free time she likes to travel, especially to Portugal. She has been to over 4 continents, visited many US states, each time wrapping herself around the different cultures and understanding there are other perspectives to acknowledge. She also enjoys going to the beach, walking “the boards” and hiking but relaxing with a good mystery and suspense book plays to by curiosity and thirst to keep learning.

She works both in a school and hospital setting which allows her to work with people who present different experiences. She believes that no one single approach is the right one for every individual. Her perspective is to meet each client where they are at and how to help support them in their personal goals. She continues to learn and seek out new tools and resources to further strengthen my work and ability to help individuals expand upon and change their narratives.
