GENTLE YOGA

Gentle Yoga is for all levels and invites thoughtful movements into the body. It is a slow moving practice offering balance, mindful attention to movement, guided breathwork and may also include visual imagery and poetic readings, mantras (spoken words) and mudras (hand postures to further enhance meditation and help with healing). Gentle Yoga classes offer a deeply relaxing Savasana practice. Classes may also offer musical tone healing with singing bowls, reiki and journaling.

LIFEFORCE YOGA FOR ANXIETY & DEPRESSION

LifeForce Yoga is a practice of compassion that creates a big enough container to embrace and accept all the dualities of mood. The practice allows the student to move into a balanced emotional, mental, and physical state of equanimity and self-awareness. Lifeforce Yoga utilizes breathing practices, meditation techniques, vibrational tones, simple postures and yoga nidra to release the places in the mind and body where tension, grief and trauma are stored. Lifeforce Yoga can be beneficial to people struggling with anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, grief and loss, trauma and addictions. Lifeforce Yoga is an evidence-based practice with research showing that participants in a Lifeforce Yoga led program had decreased symptoms of depression as well as other associated physical or mood states. iREST YOGA NIDRA MEDITATION

Yoga Nidra is for all levels and is a practice that invites the participant into a meditative state offering physical relaxation, mental relaxation and emotional relaxation. iRest yoga nidra is researched and has been shown to infuse the conscious and sub-conscious realms of the body by allowing the body to sense the guided visualizations offered by the practitioner. Repeated practice of iRest yoga nidra serves to lower the blood pressure, lower the heart rate, calm the nervous system, enhance mental focus, stabilize the mood, and release negative emotions by working with old patterns of behavior and creating new neural pathways for healthier practices. If you desire a meditative practice but struggle with quieting the mind and sitting still, then this practice of yoga nidra will bring meditation into your life, the same as a sitting meditative practice. It is an all encompassing mindfulness based meditative practice. Class and workshop sessions will also allow time for journaling.

RESTORATIVE YOGA FOR RELAXATION

Restorative Yoga is for all levels and invites the body into a state of restful relaxation. Restorative Yoga is performed while lying in positions with the body supported by bolsters, blankets, and blocks. We allow the body to rest into each position for between 5-15 minutes. Restorative yoga is akin to allowing the body to exhale. With the body feeling supported, your sympathetic nervous system will feel more calm, thus allowing the muscles, tensions and activations associated with your parasympathetic nervous system to release emotional tensions and recharge. As an added enhancement, participants will also receive reiki energy healing from the yoga teacher. Classes may also offer visual imagery, poetic readings, mantra, musical tone healing with singing bowls, and journaling.
