Adrienne Wert, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My greatest reward is working as a therapist and helping my clients reach their optimal potential.  I have worked in the field of social work for over twenty years.  I was an executive with a consulting firm when I decided to pursue my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City.  I have worked with the seriously mentally ill, families and individuals dealing with addictions, Crisis Intervention at Monmouth Medical Center and a school social worker in the public school system.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey.

I am well trained in variety of treatment modalities.  One modality is EMDR.  I practice trauma informed therapy for victims of trauma.  I find that the use of EMDR, although not for everyone, enables collaborative work with my clients to address and refrain the source of their distress.  I use psychodrama, cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems therapy depending client’s goals and the goodness of fit.  I work with trauma victims, LBGTQ population, and people with addictions, anxiety, and depression.

I am an active volunteer in my community, deeply concerned with social justice.  I am a member of EMDRIA, an organization of EMDR practitioners.  I belong to the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama.  I am also a member of NASW.

I live with my dog RJ and enjoy all the activities that living at the seaside offers.
